29 going on 15

Well, well, well, who'd have thought, I'm in the final year of my life as I know it. Only 11 months before hair becomes a permanent resident in my ears, I start enjoying the Discovery Channel, garden fixtures become interesting and I begin to smell of cabbage. Like Rab C Nesbitt said "Too old for ecstacy, too young for the bowling green". Well not yet dammit! So this weekend I went out and behaved like a teenager for one last birthday weekend of debauchery and nihilism! I started the weeknd's festivities quietly with family. Me and my siblings, known for that night as the clan McGuinness, hit blowpop in the recently refurbished thekla. Hurrah! And my sister knows the guys who run the night! Hurrah! So it was all free! And we ended up drinking in their bar at the bottom of park street for free. Yay! Here's some pictures of me and my family looking a little worse for wear...

Oh dear

Oh Dear Oh Dear

And the piece de resistance

OK, I know this looks bad, but I could barely see when I took these photographs. It's remarkable I actually manage to distinguish that I was pointing the lens at people's faces. Anyway, it was a truly fabulous night, and whilst I did miss a lot of my old dancing compadres (Will, Nick and Stan, I'm looking at you) it was really special to go out and get totally out of my head with family. Ah.

This was followed by a day of self loathing and paranoia, which I enjoyed in foetal position on the sofa in my lounge. Somehow, however, I managed to pull myself together and head into town to meet with the remainder of the old Bristol pocey: Andy, Em and Bruce. Well, actually, Bruce doesn't really count, but it was lovely to see him none the less. I'm not going to comment much on the goings on of that evening, as they have already been covered in fine style by Mr Simpson here:

It was a great night, so good infact that we left Andy a parting gift. An account on www.sexfinder.com. Andy has the very appropriate tag of Sexymildman, which I'm sure you'll agree, describes the flame haired adonis to a tee. What I wasn't expecting were the replies he has already received. Ah, how wonderful the world wide interweb is, where a ginger man can find true love within two days.

Anyways, it was a great weekend and thanks to everyone who made it so grand - love y'all!
